For shops, clinics, cafés and studios, the map listing often brings more customers than the website. A checklist to get it right.

SEO

When someone searches “near me”, Google shows the map before the websites. Your Business Profile is the first impression for local customers.

01Get the basics exactly right

Business name, address, phone number and opening hours should match your website and every other listing exactly. Inconsistency confuses both customers and Google.

02Choose categories carefully

The primary category affects which searches you appear for. Pick the most specific one that fits, then add secondary categories.

03Photos and posts

Real photos of your place, team and products help people choose you. Regular updates show the business is active.

04Reviews

Ask happy customers for reviews and reply to every one — good or bad — politely and promptly. Never buy or fake reviews.

For local searches, the map is your shop window.
